We've All Gone Mad

Welcome to our Mad Tea Party.  We've all gone completely bonkers and gotten all dressed up for a spot of tea.  We've got two seats at the head of the table for our guests of honor.  Could that be YOU?

  • You must have "I've gone mad" written on you or a piece of paper with your look visible. No Photoshop for this.

  • Guests of Honor will be based on a points system including, creativity, originality, and how well the theme was portrayed.
  • If you chose to Photoshop please do not mess with the makeup.  Fixing a blemish or a pesky freckle is fine but if I can see edits on the makeup itself I'll give you a chance to send the unedited version before disqualifying that look.
  • We will not accept any entries until Wednesday August 1st at 8:00am CST and will not accept any entries after Saturday September 1st at 9:00pm CST.

Red Velvet Love

HOWWWDDDDYYYY LOVES!!!
Gosh I feel like I almost need to dust this blog off its been so long.  I hope y'all missed me as much as I missed posting to you.  So how about a big red cupcake to get us reacquainted?  I've made this recipe in cake form before but since it was for a customer I wasn't really able to blog about it.  These were all for family and boy were they AMAZING.  Seriously will never use another red velvet cake recipe again. This is THE red velvet recipe.  This is a recipe from the magnificent Bakerella.  Find her post here.  For those bums like myself I'll include the recipe here as well. Just because I love y'all!  Please note I used a whipped cream cheese frosting for my cupcakes and it beyond delicious.  *WARNING* Those on a diet should not try this frosting even a bit.  You will be addicted!
Red Velvet Cupcake with Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

Red Velvet Cake from Bakerella

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 Tablespoon cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 oz. red food coloring
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour two 8 inch cake pans. Line cupcake pans with liners (should get 22-24)
  • Lightly stir eggs in a medium bowl with a wire whisk. Add remaining liquid ingredients and stir together with whisk until blended. Set aside.
  • Place all the dry ingredients in your mixing bowl and stir together really good with another wire whisk.
  • Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix on medium-high for about a minute or until completely combined.
  • Pour into cake pans and then drop the pans on the counter a few times to release any air bubbles.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes 18-22mins or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • After about ten minutes, remove from pans and cool completely on a wire rack. I also cover in plastic wrap while the cakes cool. Note tops with be slightly hard have no fear the inside is fluffy and moist.  Several of these cupcakes were consumed before frosting could be added.  They are that good!
  • Then make the frosting.

I can not for the life of me remember where I found this frosting recipe so anyone who knows the location of this pleaseeeee let me know so I can give credit

Ms. Humble's Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

16oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup heavy cream, cold. Higher the fat content, the better (I'm using 40% Ultra) I used regular heavy cream

Beat the cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth and fluffy. In a separate bowl,
beat the heavy cream to nearly stiff peaks, then add the whipped cream into the
cheese mixture and quickly and briefly beat to combine. Do not over beat.

I created the flower on top out of white chocolate petals and mini chocolate chips.  I will be creating a tutorial on this soon.

My new addiction! Longest.Post.Ever.

Happy St Pattys Day Lovelies!!!!!
I'm sorry it has been so long since I posted.  Time just ran away from me...screaming.  Also been battling migraines again.  I'll try to keep the blog up better.  I've baked several goodies I hope to post soon; including my first attempt at doughnuts!
This post will be about one of my secret additions not many know about...MAKEUP!  I love all the pretty colors, the ability to change your look based on your mood, and mostly the GLITTER.  How can you not smile when wearing glitter? Unless you lack a heart but I'm going to assume you have one and therefore love glitter. Ok? OK! Now that we have that settled I'm going to share one of my favorite lines...PRETTY ADDICTIONS.
They have the most amazing eyeshadows and blushes (the have other products that I haven't tried....yet).  Now I get what you are saying there are tons of beautiful cosmetic lines out there.  Well yes there are but personally a business isn't JUST their products.  It is also about their passion for the products and their customer service.  I don't care HOW much I love a product if their customer service sucks I'll never go back/use them again.  The girl who runs this business (out of her house! So cool..) is the poster girl for customer service.  She is 100% reachable to her customers and an absolute joy to communicate with!
In the short month I've known about Pretty Addictions (thank to my favorite non-Taylor makeup artist Courtney who we will talk about later!)  I've bought 15 eye shadows and a blush.  Every transaction has been super easy and I always get my package in like two days.  Seriously TWO DAYS.  Shes like Super Woman for make up.  Now with all of this talk of super amazing products and fantastic service I'm sure your all skimming the rest of the post for a link.  Calm yourselves loves don't I always take care of you?  Click Here for the best make up buying experience you'll ever have (until your second order to PA ;p).
I've busting to show you the awesome colors I've gotten but I feel a complete obligation to warn you about one thing.  WARNING: THIS MAKE UP IS TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY ADDICTING.  I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UTTER NEED TO BUY HER STUFF.  BANKS AND HUSBANDS BE WARNED!!!  The bank part isn't quite true not only are theses products fit for a rock star like myself they are super affordable for a broke rock star like myself.
New to makeup? Sensitive Skin?  Can't commit to an entire jar of one single color?  Have no fear she offers sample baggies as well.  Sounds too good to be true right?  Trust me it is not.  Just as I 100% back Lucky Cupcake and all she does.  I back Pretty Addictions 100% too.  I won't go on my big business rant but you know how I feel.  Lets support those that put love in our products shall we?  So click the link.  Visit her.  Ok I'll wait.....too lazy to scroll up. FINE! Linkage again for the lazy bums.
Just as I will be doing a give away for Lucky Cupcake I will soon purchase items for a give away from PA.  I also hope to do an interview with PA's owner Kas.  I am happy to announce I will be doing a face to face interview the amazing Joy from Lucky Cupcake in November! Exciting right?  Aren't you just the luckiest blog followers ever?
Tired of reading?  Ready for pictures?  Bossy bunch aren't we? I kid I kid.
The first time I ever ordered from PA was my most favorite eyeshadow on the earth and beyond.  Vintage Doll.  Basically she took the essence of my life and ground it up in a glittery pile of love.  The only thing that should be better is a Cherry Devine inspired color...a girl can dream right?  I also bought the Moulin Rouge blush which I haven't tried yet.  Unfortuntaley I was retarded and did not photography my lovely vintage doll but please enjoy the photo from the website.
The perfect eyeshadow
My second purchase was the St. Patrick's Day Collection.  I really wanted the dark emerald like green so I bought the whole thing and gave some of the colors to a very close friend.  I did create a look using 2 PA colors and an Orglamix.  I did photograph my package and the shadows before I have them away..
I can't even explain the excitement when I see this golden mailer in my mailbox...think Willy Wonka's golden ticket.
My little gem
Lucky 2Nite
Shame Walk
Cobblestone Pub
Ohhhhh Patrick
Feelin Lucky?
Lucky 2Nite and Ohhhh Patrick by Pretty Addictions.  Absinthe by Orglamix.  I'm no Courtney but I'm getting better!
I also photographed O' GoldiFuxx however when I attempted to convert it from RAW to .jpeg it corrupted.  Basically the file was a bully.  So just trust me its fabulous...or don't and buy it to judge for yourself :)

The third and most recent shipment I received today.  It was the only thing to make me smile with such a bad day (well ok my cat did to).  On March 15th PA celebrated their 1 year anniversary and in honor of that created 9 new semi matte shadows.  Oh it gets better, when you buy the collection it arrives in the cutest mini paint can ever.  No really I die and squeee when I look at it.  It is now my piggy bank to save up for more Pretty Addictions!!
Being today was so awful and my head felt like it was being jack hammered I only have product photos to share no applications. But, remember Courtney that I mentioned what seems like chapters ago??? Well shes really amazing at applying makeup and just so happens to have a look created using ALL of the birthday collection.  Baller right?
It's ok I'm jealous of her too!
WARNING #2 WHEN YOU START LOOKING AT THE KISS & MAKEUP PAGE YOU WILL FIND ITS HARD TO STOP.  HER ABILITIES WITH SHADOW AND BRUSH ARE PHENOMENAL.  I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU FORGET TO FEED YOUR FISH, CLEAN YOUR HOUSE OR GO TO BED IN A TIMELY MANNER BECAUSE YOUR ARE SPENDING YOUR TIME IN AWE OF GREATNESS.

Hand written thanks you's matter!

Best packaging ever

THIS=LOVE

Goodnight little cuties

I thought it was cute.  Photography clean up.
Long post.  Thanks for holding on til the end.  Totally worth it.  Anyone reading this comment here or on my face book 1 PA color/product they'd like to see in a giveaway.  Currently saving up for the Hollywood collection.  My birthday is coming up after all LQL.  I hope you enjoyed if not...why are you still reading? HATER!!! Goodnight lovelies.

Bakerella Made Me Do It!

Hello Loves,
I think even those of you who don't know me personally have figured out how much I love to bake.  I live to bake really.  I've enjoyed baking since I can remember but it was one of my close friends who turned me on to a blog that (all dramaticness aside) changed my life.

That blog was Bakerella's.  I should just say I LOVE her.  We even had the pleasure of meeting her.  She is so stinking sweet and had such a rough year.  She is truly an inspiration from baking to giving to smiling through the hard times.  If you haven't visited her blog yet, DO IT.  You can thank me later <3.

Finding this blog helped unlock my baking creativity and opened the door to my blogging.  I started a photo album on facebook showing her delicious recipes.  Lifetime goal:  Bake everything on her blog.  Can I do it?
Not all of the pictures are great or even good lol but everyone starts somewhere!
